Termination of Cheque Services in Australian Branches

The Australian Government announced the Cheque Transition Plan on 18 November 2024, under which cheques will be gradually phased out as a payment instrument nationwide.
In alignment with government policy and in consideration of our overall business arrangements, all Australian branches of our bank will cease providing cheque related services effective 1 July 2026. This termination includes, but is not limited to:
- Cheque issuance
- Cheque processing
- Cheque acceptance
- Cheque collection (including clean collection)
All units are requested to promptly notify their subordinate institutions and relevant clients, and to provide the necessary guidance and communication to ensure a smooth transition.
For clients who continue to rely on cheque services, please assist them in migrating to alternative payment or settlement methods in advance to avoid any disruption to their financial transactions.
